Following the highly anticipated release of the 2023 film “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” Nintendo has announced that they will be creating a video game based on the film’s interpretation of the beloved Mario characters.

From Rags to Riches, The Mario Bros. Will No Longer Unclog Your Toilet

The game, tentatively titled “Super Mario Bros.” will take players on a wild and bizarre ride through the world of the film, complete with all of its strange twists and turns. Players will control Mario and Luigi as they navigate the film’s unique version of the Mushroom Kingdom, complete with a gritty, dystopian aesthetic and a cast of eccentric characters. Along the way, they’ll encounter obstacles ranging from giant fungus monsters to sentient, anthropomorphic bullet bills, and must use their wits and platforming skills to overcome them.

But that’s not all – the game will also be inspired by the film’s most iconic moments, such as the battle with Bowser. Nintendo promises that these levels will be some of the most challenging and mind-bending in video game history, with puzzles that will have players hitting their heads and jumping toward blocks for a chance at a star.

A spinoff for Donkey Kong is in the works, featuring his ape family in the style resembling “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Jersey Shore”

Super Mario Bros. is simply a starting point for the plumbers as there are multiple avenues of gaming content in the works. Games featuring kart racing, sports, party games, being a doctor, fighting, RPG elements, Tetris-like, collaborating with Sonic at the Olympics, paint programs, and a Dance Dance Revolution mix are reportedly all in development.

In a press release, Nintendo stated that they were thrilled to bring the world of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” to life in a new and exciting way, and that they believed the game would be a fitting tribute to the film’s unique vision. Whether fans will be willing to take the plunge into this exciting and creative version of the Mushroom Kingdom remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure – it’s going to be a wild ride.
