Mickey Mouse has a new Rat-titude
After uncovering long-lost journals from Walt Disney himself, Disney surprised the world by announcing plans to redesign their cherished icon, Mickey Mouse. According to the journals, Walt’s first vision for Mickey Mouse was a rat, not a mouse.
Disney executives showed concept images of the new-look Mickey Rat at a press conference, and it’s nothing short of terrifying. A long, scaly tail, beady crimson eyes, and jagged, razor-sharp fangs distinguish the new design. The once-adorable mouse ears have given way to torn, twisted rat ears.
Many fans, however, are outraged by the decision. Social media has been flooded with comments from fans who are repulsed by the new design, with some even claiming that they are afraid of it. Some have even gone as far as to demand that Disney scrap the idea altogether and stick with the classic Mickey Mouse design.
Only time will tell whether the world is ready for the new, terrifying Mickey Mouse, or if it will be remembered as a misguided attempt to honor Walt Disney’s original vision.
